Bylaws
The Gilford Island Association was formed in 1991 as a response to rule changes that would affect the Glendale Docks. It was felt that by joining together in their concerns, the islanders from all the Gilford Islands would have greater impact on the town fathers. They formally drew up bylaws to govern the organization and it has been in existence since then. The mission has been expanded to include:
-
Conserve and protect the island properties in the Town of Gilford.
-
Advocate for laws and regulations that protect the use of and water quality of Lake Winnipesaukee.
-
Cooperate with other organizations in the use and protection of Lake Winnipesaukee, its islands, and shorefront.
-
Work with the Town of Gilford and the State of New Hampshire to further any activity which will be in the best interest of island property owners

The Gilford Island Association is a 501(c)(3) organization.
